My dear friends and lovers of jewelry, despite being in my 9th month of pregnancy, I could not abstain from participating in the Artistar Jewels 2018 event. It was part of the Milan fashion week and dedicated entirely to the world of jewelry.
Situated in a striking location, the historical building of Giureconsulti in the center of Milan just in front of Piazza del Duomo, this event has received considerable praise. Between the 22nd and the 25th of February, more than 170 international goldsmiths from 30 countries showcased more than 450 objects, which attracted a very big number of visitors to the event.
I believe that such events that are open not only for specialists in the field of jewelry but also for the general public are fundamental in Italy, because the culture of jewelry seems to become less popular.
The possibility to admire classic designs as well as extravagant alternatives all during one event that is dedicated to the art of the jewelry is an amazing occasion. It allows every type of woman, from the more conservative to the very extravagant ones, the young girls and the mature ladies, to find an object or an artist who is suitable for her needs and taste. It is also stimulating a bigger curiosity and interest in the world of jewelry and into the latest fashion trends.
All the creations that are exhibited during this event are unique pieces or small editions made by international designers. They are created mainly for their aesthetic research and stylistic innovation and therefore extremely exclusive. All pieces are very well presented inside a transparent glass box and well illuminated.
Thirty of the creations selected by the jury (composed of experts in the sector) will be the protagonists of an exhibition that is touring across very important European galleries and concept stores. The three winners of the event will also participate in Artistar Jewels 2019. One of them will even have the honor to participate in a professional goldsmith course at the Ambrosian goldsmith school in Milan and the other two will take part in two very important international exhibitions.
It is a great occasion for all lovers of the scene, a young environment, innovative, with great and dynamic organization and extreme kindness.
