In the meantime, I’m pleased to write about a new brand, “I bijoux”, a small business based in Rieti, in central Italy. “I bijoux” has in its DNA apassion for entirely handmade jewellery and the objective to make every single piece unique with a personal style. After studying goldsmith at the Accademia delle Arti Orafe (Academy of Goldsmith Arts) in Rome, Isabella – a mother, a designer and an artisan – started her own workshop in Rieti, where she creates jewellery customized for her clients’ face and personality.
Glad to be back, my precious friends!
I’m on my way to Vicenzaoro, the largest jewellery fair in Italy. I can’t wait to say hi to all my goldsmith friends there. I’m sure I’m going to see collections and meet emerging talented goldsmiths to tell you about.
Isabella likes to give new life to vintage jewels by renewing their design and to create new pieces in gold, silver and copper, with natural and semi-precious stones, corals and pearls.
I have worn and taken pictures of some of her creations. Not only their harmonious shapes and large volumes, but also Isabella’s ever innovative ability to combine stones struck me the most.
Even the apparently extravagant pieces of jewellery have an elegant symmetry. The result is a powerful visual impact: these bijoux aren’t made to go unnoticed and the face or the body wearing them acquire more character. I’m so happy that small and individual businesses manage to emerge in a world which tends more and more towards mass production.
My dear friends, if you happen to pass by Rieti, Lazio’s small city surrounded by medieval walls, please go and visit my friend Isabella and her workshop at Via Pietro Boschi N. 1. Or check out her website at www.creazionegioielli.com.
Write to you soon!
Love, your Miss Giò
